Step 1: Network Access: Carriers
There are two possible connections:
- Connect Direct TCP
- Custom/Advance Connection
Direct TCP
Direct TCP stack is included with BlackBerry handhelds version 3.8 or higher and allows direct TCP connection to be launched directly from the BlackBerry handheld without using the Mobile Data Service
In order to configure your BlackBerry to utilize the direct TCP, follow the steps featured below:
- Access Options located in your BlackBerry home screen (icon is highlighted with blue circle in the image below)
- Choose TCP or Tools from the available list

- Enter the required information for your wireless carrier
- Press the track wheel and Save your actions

- APN Username and Password must be requested from your carrier provider.
* Note: you will be able to make direct TCP connections from your handheld only if your wireless carrier supports such connections and you may also need to upgrade your rate plan accordingly.
Custom / Advance Connection
In case your device is not supported by Direct TCP Connection you will have to perform the Custom / Advance Connection where required fields will have to be filled in.
Make sure to generate all required information located in the Custom Settings screen featured below before you start the Program Launch of VT Mobile Trading System.
CUSTOM SETTINGS SCREEN

All fields featured in Custom Settings screen must be filled in accordingly with proper information which can be extracted directly from your BlackBerry by following the instructions presented in the Generating Information for Custom / Advance Connection section of the Content.
Generating Information for Custom / Advance Connection
To generate such information, follow the steps featured below:
- Select the Options application located in your BlackBerry home screen
- Highlight the entry for Service Book and open it by pressing the track wheel
- If there is an entry labeled WAP Transport highlight the entry, click the track wheel and select View.
* If there is no WAP Transport entry you will need to contact your mobile carrier in order to obtain your WAP settings.
- Press the track wheel and select Show HRT
- Press the track wheel again and this time select View
- If your device uses GPRS there should be a line beginning with APN:. The remaining text on that line is your GPRS APN that you will need to enter in Web Viewer.
- Obtain your WAP gateway IP address and port from the IP/Ports: field.
The WAP gateway IP address is composed of everything before the first colon
The WAP gateway port is the number following the first colon.
For example if IP/Ports: 10.250.250.250:9201:8205 then:
WAP gateway IP address is 10.250.250.250
WAP gateway port is 9201.
Step 2: Initial Program Launch
Once the
VT Mobile Trading System application is successfully installed you should be able to see the

(VT Mobile Trading System) icon on your Blackberry home screen among all other applications. (Icon is highlighted with red circle in the image below)

* Note: in order to establish proper internet connection you should have previously successfully identified your device Carrier.
(Please refer to Network Access: Carriers section of the Content)
- Using the track wheel navigate towards
application link available in the home screen of your Blackberry and access VT Mobile Trading System program in the same way you would access any other application installed on your device.
- Once accessed you will be prompted with Please Select Carriers system message:

- Using the track wheel select the correct type of connection previously identified:
- Connect Direct TCP or Custom / Advance Connection
- Follow the steps consequently
CONNECT DIRECT TCP

CUSTOM / ADVANCED CONNECTION

- Once the proper Carrier is selected, only (!) during the initial launch, application will load default Languages and Skins
- Shortly after VT Mobile Trader screen you will be prompted to enter the Login details

At all future times, you may launch VT Mobile Trading System program in the same way you would launch any other application installed on your device.
If your Network Access Carrier was properly set and launched during the initial Program Launch (see Network Access: Carriers section of the Content) you shall not be prompted with “Please Select Your Carrier” system messages again.
Step 3: Set up Login information
LOGIN SCREEN

Fields:
User Name and Password: fill in required fields with personal information based on your existing trading account.
Dealing Desk: press the track wheel, choose Change Option and select the appropriate type of trading
Special checkbox: if checked stores user login/password information and enables the user to skip towards Main Menu during all future program launch attempts.
* Note: we recommend to enter your personal login/password information manually each time you login to use VT Mobile Trading System due to a possibility of losing the wireless phone. If such does occur, the stored information enables any user to access your trading accounts via VT Mobile Trading System. Therefore please contact our customer support team immediately in order to gain assistance in updating your new personal information.
Login: by pressing the Login link the program will update provided information and if verified will launch the Accounts Screen of VT Mobile Trading System.
Successful Login will launch the Accounts Screen of VT Mobile Trading System.
